Music Production Program

A s you may know, FMA has two programs: Prophetic Worship and Music Production.

Many are confused about where IHOPU’s audio training comes from (Since) The Forerunner Media Institute covers some audio in their 1-year program, but the primary audio training at IHOPU comes through FMA’s Music Production Program.

Our program trains sound techs and producers to express an enjoyable and dynamic presentation of worship teams and artists in live worship and studio recordings.

Music Production students take hands-on and technical background classes and hone-in their skills on a FMA worship team during their Harp & Bowl class.  Music Production students also take the same theology classes that FMA Prophetic Worship students take, becoming more than a tech in a booth, but a prophetic messenger with the fire of God on the inside.

The final component of our program is the Keysett classes where students learn ear training, music theory and basic keyboard skills so that producers can understand music.  Students are assessed on their musical skill and are placed in the appropriate class.  No musical background is required—we teach even the newest beginner.

Many sound techs in the church have very little formal training.  They love serving and are able to figure out just enough to make it work without (many) complaints.  There are very few avenues for further training, especially if there’s no one else with more experience around.  Houses of prayer have a similar predicament, but the hours required to continue extended times of prayer worship can run an understaffed sound team ragged.

We need to multiply excellent sound techs to help make extended night and day prayer possible and enjoyable for everyone. The mission of the FMA Music Production Program is to raise up sound techs and producers with a spirit of excellence and the heart of a worshipper.

Everything I’m reading about this site is amazing!! I write my own lyrics and make demos of the songs in garage band. I’m very limited to what I can do/make musically. But, I love connecting to people and encouraging them through music :)
